“But I want to watch one more!” “I’m not done with my game!” “You’re so mean!” Does your daughter act like a different person when it’s time for the TV or tablet to be turned off?
If you’re like many parents, the transition away from screens makes your sweet girl transform into someone behaves like her survival has been threatened. Why does this happen?
You want to enforce healthy habits in regard to screen time, but it can be difficult. Technology is integrated into our daily lives, and it’s extremely convenient… except when it has its hooks in us.
Technology has a strong pull on your girl. It can have consequences on her development, both physical and psychological. We all want our kids to develop their character and life skills -- not chase amusement to the extent that it impairs or endangers their livelihood.
My name is Arlene Pellicane, and I’m an author, speaker, wife, and mother of three. I’ve written a variety of books encouraging families, including Parents Rising, 31 Days to a Happy Husband and Calm, Cool, and Connected: 5 Digital Habits for a More Balanced Life. I’m also the co-author of Growing Up Social: Raising Relational Kids in a Screen-Driven World alongside Dr. Gary Chapman.
My experience speaking about healthy family dynamics and building positive relationships has given me the privilege of being featured on The Today Show, Fox & Friends, Focus on the Family, and more. I write regularly for Proverbs 31 ministries and host my own podcast, The Happy Home. My husband James and I live in San Diego with our children, Ethan, Noelle, and Lucy. I’ve had a longstanding passion for empowering families to connect in ways that foster affection, character, maturity, and personal growth.
If you’re tired of battling over screens, I have good news for you. You don’t have to fear your daughter’s attachment to technology -- you can help her manage it and develop habits that will positively shape the way she interacts with the world (both digital and physical) as she grows.
Let me show you how it works.
Technology and Your Girl is an online study that provides education and resources to you as a parent so that you can have productive, empowering discussions and interactions with your daughter regarding her use of technology.
This program has four key components. Two are interactive and communal -- you should never feel like you are in this alone. The other two are focused on training and application -- you’ll absorb the lessons and then learn how to make the principles practical with your daughter.
With technology being so integrated into the way we connect in the modern world, we have to confront its disadvantages head-on -- and equip our girls with frameworks that will help her thrive in a distracted world. You can expect to be furnished with teaching and fully supported as you make progress through this course. Here are the four key components:
Each week, you’ll receive videos where we discuss cornerstone topics of the program, such as the realities and effects of YouTube and social media, Internet safety, and developing healthy boundaries and interpersonal skills.
These “how to” guides come with your educational videos. They’re your “homework” -- ways to apply your knowledge and connect with your daughter over these topics.
Our private group allows you to connect with our team and others in the Truth Becomes Her community. You can encourage, be encouraged, and get access to more resources there.
As you go through this course, you’re going to have questions. This program is designed so that you can get those questions answered and stay connected to other like-minded parents.
"We are living in rapidly changing technological times. This course will help your girl form healthy habits around devices. The steps are simple but the results can be quite profound."
Technology and Your Girl contains six modules, and each one features a lesson to increase your understanding of technology’s effects on your daughter. Some of these topics can seem intimidating at first, and it may feel like you’re drinking from a firehose. But with these tools and training, you will be able to confidently walk through these subjects with your girl.
What is your daughter really watching when she gets on YouTube? What is she interested in, and how does it affect her well-being? This module will give you a window into that world -- and some homework to help you re-engage your daughter in real world activities.
Social media is a misnomer. What’s social about being in your room for hours alone on your phone, posting selfies and comments to followers that you barely make eye contact with in real life? This module will give you the tools to talk with your daughter about the upsides and downsides of social media, then come up with a plan for the future.
How is screen time going to affect the development of your daughter’s brain? We’ll look at the research, and I’ll show you how to help your daughter foster her own mental, emotional, and physical development outside of the use of technology.
This module will help you have conversations with your daughter about the realities of the Internet -- and how she can be smart and safe when she’s online. Once she’s clear on what’s at stake, she can manage her use of the Internet much more wisely.
In this module, we’ll discuss the importance of putting down devices and having face-to-face interactions. And guess what? Those interactions start with you! Talking with your daughter (and putting down your phone) will give her the example and practice she needs to build her interpersonal skills.
This is where you get to put into action all that you’ve learned throughout the program. You’ll be able to establish a digital philosophy and help your daughter recognize and abide by limits on screen time. I will give you some ideas and examples of screen time boundaries and you can create your own based on what’s best for your family.
"Parents must be alert to how technology is changing their daughters. Using it too much can cause girls to be lonely, depressed, confused, and unsure of themselves. It can rob them of joy and their God-given purposes. That’s why I hope you’ll watch this video course by Arlene Pellicane. Your daughters need you to know and to act! Arlene communicates clearly and with passion, including relevant information and practical ideas. You’ll be inspired to keep making wise decisions and to make appropriate changes. This training will equip and empower you to parent strong to protect and rescue your girls."
As a bonus when you join the Technology and Your Girl program, you’ll receive this exclusive video from my Parents Rising series: “Amusement Is Not the Highest Priority.” This bonus content covers how constant entertainment affects us -- and how we can help our children recapture everyday joys and excitement outside of screens.
And MUCH more. We believe this resource is a great addition to the course and will help you put some critical principles into practice.
"I love listening to Arlene teach on technology! Her teaching is relevant, relational and engaging. It's been a huge help to have this information as I raise my daughters."
The private Truth Becomes Her group is a community you’re going to love. Our team will regularly post videos, new podcast episodes, and other helpful content you can share with your daughter. You’ll also be able to ask questions and talk through your challenges with us directly. This is an interactive coaching group where our team and the entire community will come together to make progress and keep in step with one another.

As a parent, you want the absolute best for your daughter. You can’t be with her every moment of the day -- and she will face a lot of challenges that are completely different (or didn’t even exist!) when you were growing up. But when you are present, fully engaged, and able to discuss these important topics with your daughter, such as her use of technology (even when things get really uncomfortable), her confidence and capabilities will increase.
When you choose to enroll in the Technology and Your Girl course, you are choosing to take ownership of a subject that is only going to get more prominent (and powerful) as time goes on. You are also deciding to give your daughter the help and resources she needs to battle bad habits, peer pressure, and unhealthy interactions.
Regardless of what you believe, your background, your past or current struggles, we know that all daughters need a foundation for their personal development that is rooted in solid, healthy principles.
With the Technology and Your Girl course, you’ll finally have the education and tools you’ve been looking for to help her manage her use of technology, both now and as she grows.
"I don't want my daughters growing up with a phone as their constant companion. I want much more for them. Arlene's course helps us as moms get our priorities straight, giving us a solid plan for action."
I’ll be honest with you: This course will probably make you uncomfortable. It’s not easy to wrestle with the dark side of our modern world. It can be scary to recognize what we and our girls are being exposed to in this era.
But whether Technology and Your Girl is right for you or not, I encourage you not to shy away from handling “the technology thing” -- even if you don’t feel like you’re ready yet.
Even if it doesn’t always feel this way, you are -- and will always be -- one of the strongest influences in your daughter’s life. You can help her get on the best possible track regarding her use of technology.
If you have courage, she will have courage. You don’t have to be perfect, polished, articulate or organized.
All you have to do is be willing to take the first step.
"I can't help but feel encouraged when I listen to Arlene. Her style and humor are easy to listen to. I know this course will help a lot of moms and daughters."
We’ve designed Technology and Your Girl to be an outstanding course rich with tools and training that we believe you will love. But we understand that it may not be for everyone! If you join this program and find out that it’s not for you, you can email us and get a full refund within the first 30 days. It’s as simple as that. You’ll get 100% of your money back, no questions asked!
The Technology and Your Girl course is for parents who want to equip their daughters to manage their use of technology well, both now and in the future.
With this course, you can teach your girl...
If you want to help your daughter develop her interpersonal skills, character, and capabilities instead of retreating to screens for amusement and escape, you’re in the right place.
I know that if you do the work, you will achieve results in your relationship with your daughter -- and her relationship with technology. I’m challenging you to increase your understanding, do the homework, and watch what happens -- I guarantee you will see positive changes!
This is a six week program where you will receive one module per week. The goal is not for you to have more work to do. As parents, we’ve got hectic schedules, things we’re juggling. Believe me, I get it. The goal is not to overwhelm you but for you to set aside a little time each week to work through the content in a way that makes sense for everything you’ve got going on.
Plus, you get full access to the course material right away if you want it -- which means there’s zero chance of falling behind. You get to choose the pace that works for you. The materials will be there for you for as long as you need them.
Forever! Once you enroll, your membership never expires. You can access the course material and the Truth Becomes Her Private Community group for as long as they exist.
All of the lessons we’re going to work through speak to a critical issue related to your girl’s use of technology. Each module is going to show you how to introduce and discuss important concepts to your daughter. We’re also going to go into specific applications, and I’ll be giving you exercises to complete so that you can connect with your daughter and empower her to build better technology habits.
The cost to enroll in this course is a one time payment of $49.
Your enrollment in the Technology and Your Girl program is 100% risk free. We believe you will love all the materials and support -- but if you aren’t convinced that it’s right for you, email us within the first 30 days for a full refund. No questions asked!
"As I'm homeschooling my daughters, it's so good to have a course like this as a resource. I've learned that technology can be useful, but it can easily be overused. Watch this course -- you'll be glad you did!"
